What is FairWestWork?

A social and business experiment to increase how much I, Nicholas Hamill RN, am connected to the Fair West neighborhood by seeking and performing work in the neighborhood and collaborating with neighbors already doing that or who think that's cool.

What work does FWW do?

Most anything. Seriously, lets talk and get to work.

Neighborhood Examples

• Walking workshops
• Applying attention to vacant or substandard homes in the neighborhood to understand why and to take action towards improving the situation (e.g. establishing contact with owner, identifying the immediate roadblocks from home being livable and assisting the owner with overcoming the roadblocks on a case-by-case basis)
• Walking around and talking a lot to most everyone
• handyman work in home/business
• Tech guidance(phones, laptops, networking, understanding the internet, etc)
• Conflict investigation and resolution between neighbors

Nursing work

• Discussing upcoming health decisions, crafting goals and possibly joining your meetings with doctors and family. Having a personal nurse who is focused on understanding and advocating for your interests.

Tech philosophy

Simple is good. Phones, inet and computers should facilitate tangible work and human connection. Reflect on the pros/cons of your online time.
